We all know that we are supposed to eat lean, protein and that salmon is a great, healthy option. Figuring out how to prepare it is often the challenge. Here is a tasty, simple salmon recipe to try for dinner tonight. Add some steamed or roasted veges and serve it all up over brown rice and enjoy!
2 Salmon filets (works for salmon steaks as well)
1 tbsp. Real Maple Syrup
1 tsp. chopped garlic
1 ½ tsp. light soy sauce
½ tsp. black pepper
½ tsp. chopped ginger (optional)
1 tbsp. olive oil
Place the filets in a plastic bag and add all of the flavorings above. Seal the bag and work the marinade over the salmon until it is completely covered. Refrigerate for at least an hour. Remove salmon from refrigerator and allow to come up to room temperature. Place directly on a hot grill or in a roasting pan on the stove for 3-7 minutes each side, depending on how done you enjoy your salmon. Hint: if you are grilling your salmon, you may want to place the salmon on aluminum foil and then on the grill. This makes for easier clean up and keeps the salmon from falling apart when flipping.
